Agradaa’s husband justifies her new name, Josephine
Pastor Eric Oduro Asiamah, husband of the founder of the Heavenway Champion International Ministry, Patricia Asiamah, popularly known as Mama Pat alias Agradaa, has revealed that his wife has received a new name during her time in prison.
Speaking about his visits to the controversial incarcerated minister, he said, “My wife told me that her name has been changed to Josephine Asiamah, a.k.a. Mama Pat.” He added that the new name signifies a transformation in her life and character, describing her as a renewed person.
“In life, any person who changes their name often experiences a corresponding change in character,” he said. He noted that the name Josephine resonated with him as he discerned that his wife is performing “Josephine-like” works in prison, engaging in mightier spiritual activities and strengthening her ministry even behind bars.
Mr. Asiamah also linked his wife’s new name to biblical precedent, recalling how an angel changed Jacob’s name before bestowing a blessing on him. He believes the change signals a new anointing and divine favour for his wife.
He urged the church and members of her congregation to continue praying for her, especially that any obstacles, what he referred to as “Goliath” in her case, would be removed.
Patricia Asiamah, a prominent religious leader, was remanded to prison in connection with allegations of financial misconduct and fraud related to donations from her congregation, a scandal that drew nationwide attention. Despite her legal troubles, her husband emphasises that her spiritual work continues and that the new name represents a fresh chapter in her life and ministry.
