Akufo-Addo must take proactive steps to curtail perennial flooding in Accra

Ghanaian musician, Gregory Bortey Newman, known by the stage name King Promise has tasked the government of President Akufo-Addo to take proactive steps to curtail the perennial flooding in Accra.

Following almost 4 hours of rain some few days ago, parts of Accra and other urban centres in the Greater Accra Region, including, Kaneshie and Tema, have been flooded.

Talking about the perennial flooding in Accra with Amansan Krakye, the ‘Sisa’ crooner said such incessant happenings bother him a lot whenever there’s a downpour in the nation’s capital.

“Of course, I’m always bothered by the flooding in Accra whenever there’s a heavy downpour because of where some people reside,” he said on Kastle FM in Cape Coast.

“The work our mothers do to feed their families will be destroyed by the rain so when you see such scenes you’d feel very sad by such happenings,” he added on the Kastle Entertainment Show.

“But we pray that the government in power currently will take proactive steps to make sure these flooding in Accra will be curtailed in order for people to feel safe wherever they find themselves,” he remarked.
