Boyfriends spend more than husbands

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tochi, has once again sparked conversations online with a controversial statement about modern relationships.
In a recent post that has drawn both curiosity and criticism, the reality TV star claimed that the financial demands placed on boyfriends today far outweigh those experienced by husbands.
“It’s more expensive now to be a boyfriend than a husband,” Tochi wrote in a short social media post that has since made the rounds.
Although he did not elaborate on the reasons behind this assertion or provide any specific examples, his post has triggered a flurry of reactions from netizens.
Who is Tochi?
Tochukwu Okechukwu, popularly known as Tochi, is a Nigerian reality TV star, realtor, and influencer who rose to fame as a contestant on Big Brother Naija Season 5 (Lockdown Edition) in 2020.
Born in Imo State, Nigeria, Tochi was among the housemates who captivated viewers with his calm demeanor, humorous takes, and occasional outspokenness.
Although he did not make it to the final stage of the competition, Tochi gained a solid fanbase and transitioned into the limelight as a media personality.
Since leaving the BBNaija house, he has built a brand around lifestyle commentary, fashion, and relationship takes, often using his platform to share thoughts on dating, marriage, and societal expectations.
