Akuapem Poloo free again, court set aside her sentence

The Accra Circuit Court has sentence Ghanaian actress Rosemary Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo to ninety (90) days imprisonment.

The sentence comes days after she was convicted on her own plea by the court for posting nude photos of herself and son on social media.

She was found guilty of publication of obscene materials and two count of engaging in domestic violence.

Her sentence run concurrently.

Akuapem Poloo celebrate son’s birthday with nude photos

The actress in celebrating her son’s seventh birthday last year June shared a nude picture of herself and son to mark the day.

She caption the picture “Son today reminds me of the very day I gave birth to you with no stress and with no regret…..30th June 2013 exactly 4:46 am Sunday Haha I still remember this date paa because it’s really meant a lot to me, I only felt the 30 minutes pain when you were turning to come out you were too good to me.

I gave birth with no complication, no cute no disability Haha I love you son. You see how you are looking at me always remember that I love you I’m naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere don’t pass by me but rather see me as your mom who brought you to life”.

The picture, however, received some backlash from cross section of the Ghanaian public, including the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Child Right International among others.

Child Right Sue Akuapem Poloo over nude photos with son

She was later sued by Child Right International, a child right organisation and charged with the offences, publication of obscene materials and  and two count of engaging in domestic violence, namely a conduct that in any way undermined another person’s privacy or integrity and a conduct that in any way detracted or was likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.
