Building a National Cathedral waste of resources, misplaced priority
Ghanaian Highlife artiste, Quarme Zaggy has fumed over the initiative to build a National Cathedral at the expense of the massive lack in the provision of vital social amenities.
“We don’t set the priorities right as a country because the things that Ghana as a nation needs, I don’t think National Cathedral comes in at all,” he fumed.
He continued “I don’t think it’s important for us to waste resources on such a venture, so such things are worrying and won’t bring improvement in our lives”.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM, Quarme Zaggy said we are not serious as a country if we continue to focus on trivialities like the building of a National Cathedral.
He remarked, “We are not serious as a country because we don’t focus on what it’s important that will help us to move forward, so what will the cathedral do for us?”.
While some celebrities find it absurd for the government to construct a cathedral at the expense of more pressing needs in the country, others have embraced the decision.
