Burna Boy Promises N200m to Portable for celebrity boxing showdown with Cubana Chief Priest
Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has reportedly pledged a jaw-dropping ₦200 million to controversial street-hop star Portable—but there’s a catch.
Portable must first step into the boxing ring with nightlife mogul Cubana Chief Priest.
The news broke after a post by Burna Boy’s staunch supporter @BENNY7GG went viral. The fan shared a screenshot from Burna Boy’s supposed alternate social media account, where the “African Giant” allegedly commented: “Walahi! Na 200m I go give Zazu.”
This comes in the wake of Portable’s dramatic technical knockout victory over Speed Darlington in a recent celebrity boxing match that had social media buzzing.
Riding on that momentum, Portable challenged Cubana Chief Priest to a bout, sparking excitement about the growing trend of celebrity boxing in Nigeria.
The spectacle of entertainers trading bars for boxing gloves isn’t new globally, but it’s gaining traction locally—with drama, ego, and clout mixing to deliver viral moments and big promises like this one from Burna Boy.
Whether Portable and Cubana Chief Priest will actually square off is yet to be confirmed, but one thing’s certain: with ₦200 million on the table, the streets are watching.
