Children should not be used as emotional shields

Ned Nwoko’s communication team has criticized Regina Daniels’ recent social media posts, stating that the actions “risk using the children as emotional shields to deflect from unresolved personal issues.”

The statement noted that the family had intentionally kept the court’s decisions private to allow Daniels “the space, privacy, and dignity to seek therapy without public pressure or embarrassment.”

The court had previously ruled in favour of Nwoko, ordering that Daniels undergo drug rehabilitation and be assessed by social welfare authorities before resuming contact with Munir and Khalifa.

The family emphasized that this process “remains the most responsible and meaningful step” for ensuring the children’s wellbeing.

Nwoko’s team reiterated that his response aims to clarify that the recent posts are less about the children’s welfare and more about shaping online sympathy.

“It is important that this window of quietude be used for healing and recovery, rather than generating another cycle of online attention,” the statement read.
