Celestine Donkor react to backlash over new single
Reacting to the criticisms in a YouTube video sighted by GhanaPlus.com the Agbebolo hit singer said the development defeat the purpose of the gospel describing it as disappointing.
She indicated no one has the right to deny another the opportunity to sing to thank God and urged that the modern day pharaseesim be stopped.
“These comments are rather unfortunate and a disappointment to me because it defeats the purpose of the gospel and some of these comments are why a gospel artiste should feature a circular artiste on a gospel song. Another one is if a gospel artiste features a circular artiste on song that song doesn’t qualify to be called a gospel”.
“The one that broke me the most is that I received a feedback from a Christian TV station that says they cannot play the song on their screens because it features circular artiste “Ewiasefo(worldly people)”,” she added.
She called on the leadership of the Christian community to be concerned about the development adding that Christianity was all about love and a such all manner of persons deserve to be shown love, circular artiste regardless.
