Dada KD died after being turned away from two hospitals – Manager reveals
The untimely passing of Ghanaian highlife legend Dada KD has left fans and industry players in shock.
Now, new details emerging from his manager, King Pee, paint a troubling picture of the musician’s final moments and the challenges faced in getting him urgent medical care.
In an interview with veteran journalist Kwesi Aboagye on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review, King Pee recounted the harrowing ordeal.
“A lady who helps him at home heard he fell down and rushed to the room to find him unconscious and unresponsive,” King Pee told Aboagye.
“So she called a taxi driver who usually transports Dada KD around when his car isn’t working, and they rushed him to the hospital. They had to visit three hospitals before they found a doctor at the last hospital, which was the Gbawe Government Hospital.”
The revelation has sparked renewed concerns about Ghana’s healthcare system, particularly the availability of emergency medical personnel.
According to King Pee, the delay in finding a hospital with a doctor on duty could have made a difference in Dada KD’s survival.
While the exact cause of death has not been made public, many have begun questioning whether quicker intervention could have saved the life of the beloved crooner.
Dada KD, known for his soulful love songs and deep baritone voice, enjoyed a decorated career that spanned decades.
His hits became soundtracks to countless weddings and love stories, and his influence on the highlife genre is undeniable.
