Daddy Lumba’s family announces change in venue for one-week observation
The family of the late Daddy Lumba has announced a change in venue for the One Week Observation after the death of the music icon.
According to the family and the funeral planning committee, the event has been moved from the University of Ghana Sports Complex to Independence Square.
Reports indicate that this was after the La Traditional Council issued a warning against noisemaking and funerals.
The date for the celebration, however, has not been changed.
A statement on Daddy Lumba’s page announcing the change read “CHANGE OF VENUE FOR ONE-WEEK OBSERVATION OF THE LATE CHARLES KWADWO FOSUH (DADDY LUMBA)
Dear Family, Friends, and Well-Wishers,
We wish to inform you that the One-Week Observation for the late Charles Kwadwo Fosuh (Daddy Lumba) will take place as scheduled on Saturday, 30th August 2025. Please be advised that the venue has been changed to Black Star Square (Independence Square), Accra.
We deeply regret any inconvenience this change may cause and sincerely appreciate your understanding and support as we commemorate the life of Charles Kwadwo Fosuh.
Thank you”.
