Davido reveals how fights with wife Chioma affect his business success
Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido has always been open about his love for his wife, Chioma Rowland, and in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, he gave fans an even deeper look into their relationship.
The singer shared that Chioma has had a unique influence on both his personal life and his career, admitting that their bond plays a significant role in his success.
“My wife has always had things over me since we were young,” Davido confessed during the conversation. “Every time I fight her, something bad happens to my business.” The revelation caught many off guard, highlighting just how impactful Chioma’s presence is in his life.
Davido went on to explain that Chioma, who has been with him for many years, carries a special grace that he believes directly affects his work.
“If I fight her, she will say, ‘So you are fighting me, Abi? Your album is coming. Do you want to fight me?’ She has that grace over me,” he added. It’s clear that, for Davido, Chioma holds a unique power in their relationship, one that seems to directly influence his career.
The couple’s history goes way back, with Davido revealing that they’ve been together for over a decade. “Before we got married, we were together for 11 years,” he explained.
“We met in school, and she went from being my girlfriend to my wife. I was 18, and she was 17. We finished school together.” This long-standing relationship has clearly been foundational to Davido’s life, as he credits Chioma with much of his success.
Despite their strong bond, Davido admitted that there were times when he felt apprehensive about introducing their children to Chioma. However, over the years, their relationship has grown stronger.
“My kids love her, especially my daughter,” he shared, noting that there has been significant growth in their dynamic as a family.
Through this candid interview, Davido has once again shown his admiration and respect for Chioma, acknowledging the influence she has had not only on his heart but on his career as well.
It’s clear that for the Afrobeat superstar, his wife’s grace and love are central to both his personal happiness and his professional success.
