Davido’s barber reflects on humble beginnings and loyalty

What started as a humble ₦200 gig has transformed into a multimillion-naira bond spanning decades.

In a touching revelation that has since taken over social media, celebrity barber Kufre Nnah, the man behind Nigeria’s upscale grooming brand Kayz Place, shared an inspiring glimpse into his journey with Afrobeats superstar Davido.

“I started cutting Davido’s hair when he was just 12 years old, when he used to pay me 200 Naira. Today, he’s paying 2 million for a haircut… what a journey!” Kufre wrote, capturing the incredible transformation of not just Davido’s stardom, but also their long-standing relationship.

He continued, “So proud to have been part of his story from the beginning. Big thanks to you brother for trusting me all these years. Your success is truly inspiring.”

The post, raw and emotional, struck a chord with many, especially those familiar with the value of loyalty and consistent hard work.

Davido, born David Adeleke, has become a global icon of Afrobeats, selling out arenas across the world.

Yet, amid all the fame, he’s clearly remained loyal to his roots—and the people who were part of his early days.
