Doing Reggae Dancehall isn’t about shouting and making noise
Ghanaian multiple award-winning musician, Ras Kuuku known in private life as Kojo Kurankye has stated that doing reggae and dancehall isn’t about shouting and making of noise.
He said “When you are doing reggae people should be able to hear the vibe in the song and aside reggae when doing music it’s not about making noise and shouting that’s not how doing music is supposed to be.
“You are talking to the soul in the music and you can’t shout at the soul so you need to humble yourself because you can’t see those that will be listening to the song after you have released it,” he added on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM.
“That’s why when I’m doing my song I become patient and my voice is also unique which has made a lot of people enjoy what I do so I don’t like to rush with my voice in the song,” he revealed.
In an exclusive interview with Amansan Krakye monitored by MyNewsGh.com , the soothing voice singer disclosed why he doesn’t do reggae and dancehall like some notable artistes in Jamaica who have deep voice.
“If you go to Jamaica we have musicians like Jah cure who sing in a calm manner so that you can hear his voice clearly because every musician and the kind of voice that they have,” he continued on the show.
Ras Kuuku told the host “Some musicians have deep voice, others have light voice and some too have silky voice so me for instance I combine all of them but when I’m doing reggae music I sit down quietly to make the song so cool”.
