Ecstatic scenes as 60th anniversary of Cape Coast’s Fetu Afahye kicks off
The 2024 edition of the Fetu Afahye promises to be ecstatic as it happens to be the 60th anniversary of the event celebrated by the chiefs and peoples of Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.
The mood in town is great coupled with the anticipation of the coming of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru after they accepted invitations to grace the occasion.
Many tourists and Ghanaians abroad including people from all walks of life are trooping to Cape Coast this week and it has led to the shortage of hotel accommodations.
Along the commercial streets of Cape Coast, many people have taken the opportunity to sell food and beverages due to the increasing numbers coming to town.
The week-long festival which happens on the first Saturday in September every year is characterized by a lot of activities to depict the cultural heritage of Oguaa.
A lot of pubs, fast food joints and restaurants are springing up in Cape Coast according to a report by MyNewsGh.com correspondent Amansan Krakye.
