Esther Smith Live Concert: Lady Prempeh did not perform because she was late
Music producer Roro has denied claims of sabotage on the part of the management of Esther Smith by Lady Prempeh.
Lady Prempeh, in a video shared via social media, disclosed that she was expected to perform at the event held on Friday, August 31 at the Perez Dome.
However, she was not allowed to perform on the said day after she had prepared for the concert.
“Five months back, Esther Smith called me about a programme in Ghana in Kumasi, Accra and Takoardi and she would want me to perform at all three shows. So, I made her contacted my management and there was an agreement for me to perform at all three concerts.
“Fast forward, three weeks back my management spoke to me that the artistes billed for the concerts are many so I have to chose one region to perform and I chose to perform in Accra,” she narrated.
The gospel singer continued that after agreeing to perform, there was uncertainty on the date for rehearsals up until the day of the event when she was contacted for a dress rehearsal.
“It was left with rehearsals and there was a back and forth with the rehearsals and I didn’t hear from them. My management tried to get in touch with them for a date but we couldn’t get one.
“Until on the day of the event which was Friday, I was told about a dress rehearsal and so I had to leave behind all my plans and go for the dress rehearsal till 2pm at Perez Dome,” she added.
But speaking in a live video broadcast Roro who is a member of Esther Smith’s team disclosed that the gospel musician was late for the show.
“Lady Prempeh was late for the show. We sent time for performance to all artistes on the bill but she delayed for three hours. She came in when Esther Smith was on the stage and it was not possible for her to perform on the day.
She could have called when she was delaying but she didn’t call us. She gave an excuse that she was waiting for somethings and the Okada that was supposed to have delivered it delayed. Her manager Dave Joy spoke to us and said we should resolve this issue on radio. They just wanted to chase clout and nothing else,” he said.
