Even in my fight for life, dad is planning my burial — Teddi Mellencamp
Teddi Mellencamp is facing her toughest battle yet — but trust her dad, John Mellencamp, to already be in full dad mode… planning way ahead, even for the unthinkable.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who’s currently battling stage 4 melanoma, revealed in a recent podcast episode that her legendary rockstar father has started talking about where he wants her to be buried — just in case.
And no, it wasn’t exactly a conversation she was ready for.
According to Teddi, John told her he wants her laid to rest in the family mausoleum back in Indiana when the time comes. That’s his way of keeping family close — forever.
But Teddi, being Teddi, responded in true humor-meets-heart style.
“Umm… is there space for my kids too?” she asked, referring to her three children — Slate, Cruz, and Dove.
John, like the protective dad he’s always been, assured her everything can be arranged.
Still, even in such heavy moments, Teddi found a way to keep it light. She joked about having “Hot girls never die” engraved on her tombstone — because, well, why not?
But beyond the laughs, Teddi made it clear — this is a fight she’s still very much in.
She admitted the talks about wills, medical wishes, and funeral plans are hard, but necessary. And while she’s doing all she can to win her battle with cancer, she’s also not shying away from preparing for every possibility.
The most emotional part? She says it’s missing time with her kids.
“Sometimes that’s the hardest part of all this… knowing I’m not there for every moment,” she shared.
As for John Mellencamp? He might hate LA traffic, but he recently spent 18 whole days in the city just to be by his daughter’s side. That’s love.
