Focusing on the show against business has affected gospel musicians
‘Style Bia Bi’ hitmaker, Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong popularly known as Great Ampong has said that most gospel artistes neglected the business aspect of the showbiz industry.
“Most of us gospel musicians didn’t have a better understanding of the nitty gritty involved in the work we were doing from the beginning,” he told Amansan Krakye in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com
He explained on Showbiz on Property “Because it’s show accompanied by the business aspect but we focused solely on the show and neglected the business side of it.
“So that’s what is worrying us because the thing is showbiz but we those in the gospel music fraternity only concentrated on the show aspect,” he added.
According to the veteran gospel singer, most of them didn’t understand the work from the unset and that’s what is affecting them currently in the music scene.
He continued “The pastor that has invited the gospel musician to perform at his church is paid at the end of the month and their kids are well catered for by the church.
“Why is it that the gospel musician performing at the church shouldn’t be paid but go home empty handed so we didn’t understand it from the unset and it has affected all of us,” he ended on Property Radio in Cape Coast.
