Foreign powers cannot force Ghana to accept uncultured homosexual acts
There are currently heated arguments about a bill to criminalize LGBTQ+ practices in Ghana but opponents argue that it’s an encroachment on human rights enshrined in the 1992 constitution.
Dean of the School of Performing Arts of the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum, has recently advised against same-sex marriages and other homosexual acts in Ghana.
Legendary Hiplife artiste, TiC born Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah has waded into the LGBTQ debate by insisting that foreign powers can’t force us to accept such uncultured practices.
He told Amansan Krakye in an interview “The truth of the matter is that I don’t support that same-sex marriage or homosexuality should be legalized in this country.
“Because Ghana is Ghana and how we were raised and brought up is different from how the white people are brought up in their country,” TiC said on Kastle FM.
He ended “In this world, you can’t throw away your culture and traditions so if we in Africa feel that we don’t like gayism we can’t say that by force foreign powers should force us to accept what we don’t like”.
