Funeral committee trying to take loans for Lumba’s funeral despite available funds—Lumba’s sister reveals

The sister of the late Daddy Lumba, Ernestina Akosua Brimpomaa has disclosed that there are attempts to seek a loan facility for the funeral of the late Daddy Lumba.

According to her, she believes that such a move is not wise enough because the family has been able to raise Ghc 500,000, which should be enough to organize the funeral of the late music icon.

She explains that Daddy Lumba has children who are still in school in Germany, and since she cannot take up the responsibility of taking care of them, things must be done in moderation so that the family can take care of the children he left behind.

“I have got a hint that they intend to take a loan facility to organize the funeral of Charles, but I don’t think that makes sense. I know that we have about five billion, and that should be enough to organize the funeral. They should not go and take any loan and later sell some of his properties to pay for the loan,” she said.

She added, “Charles has left 11 children behind; some are still schooling, and he used to send them money from Ghana. I cannot handle that responsibility; that is why I have to ensure that everything is done right. I was there after the one-week observation, and we were told that we made a profit of 5 billion. I want peace and will want the family to sit and address all lingering issues. I don’t expect them to waste money. Let us use the money we have available so that if people are willing to help us, they can help us. “

Daddy Lumba is expected to be buried in December; however, there is a court case seeking an injunction on the funeral because his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, and his sister are not satisfied with the current arrangement because they were not informed by the funeral committee.
