Vida Essel-LampteyControversial Ghanaian media personality, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, popularly known as Afia Schwarzenegger has called on online blogging sites Pulse.com.gh to get a lawyer.
The actress and radio presenter made the call in a Facebook post today over a report the site carried about her last year concerning the double-track system, the Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo’s administration introduced into the country’s education systems last year.
Afia Schwarzenegger kicks against Free SHS
Pulse.com.gh’s report on October 1, 2019, was under the headline “Double Track Free SHS is rather killing us, we want to pay so our kids can stay in school – Afia Schwar”
The report cited that Afia Schwarzenegger in a video indicated that she would prefer a fee-paying Senior High School (SHS) in Ghana because Nana Addo’s double-track free SHS is rather killing Parents.
“According to Afia who has her twin sons at the Kumasi High School, taking care of teenagers at home for three months after their first semester in school is not an easy task” the report reads.
“She explains that since some Parents can’t watch their kids loiter at home, some of them are forced to enroll their children in private classes and that doesn’t come cheap at all” the report added.
I Never Said That
The actress, in her Facebook post today, August 6, denies saying that and called the publishers liars.
“I never said this, my children are not in the double whatever, and I don’t even know how it works. Fiifi Coleman and his lying Pulse should get a lawyer…Lairs.”
“My kids are the 1st batch of Free SHS and I’am grateful to Nana Addo for giving my children quality education for free”.
4 More 4 Nana
Afia Schwarzenegger said the free SHS policy had benefitted many children in the orphanage who would have lost out on SHS education and so for that reason, she would route for Nana Addo to be elected again come 2020.
“Not only Ian and Irvin but all my children in the orphanage … I never thought anyone can give free education but after what I know, 4 more 4 Nana, “she added.
