God fills the gaps while you wait
Popular Nigerian entertainer and philanthropist DJ Cuppy has delivered an uplifting and deeply personal message to women over 30 who may be feeling the weight of societal expectations around relationships and marriage.
Reflecting on her own journey, Cuppy shared what she described as a “season of solidarity,” a moment in life where personal growth and victories aren’t necessarily tied to being in a relationship.
“I was thinking about it, how I am probably not the only one in this situation. I’m going to call it a season of solidarity where a lot of my wins and values are not necessarily from a partner,” she said.
With heartfelt reassurance, she urged women to turn to their faith and self-worth during moments of doubt or loneliness.
“For your real husband is the one who created you, Lord of all the earth. If you feel like you’re missing something in your life, God fills gaps and will never desert you.
“While you are waiting, know that the right person will come at the right time. And just as I have learnt, what is for you will not pass you.”
Her remarks come after the end of her much-publicized engagement to British boxer Ryan Taylor.
The pair, who got engaged in late 2022, ended their relationship months later, with both moving on in separate directions.
While Taylor has since revealed his new family, DJ Cuppy appears to be finding peace in her faith and personal evolution.
In the aftermath of the breakup, she posted a joyful video of herself singing and dancing to a gospel song with the caption: “Look at all my fruit! God’s blessings are endless… Thank you Lord Jesus!”
