Hajia4Real expected to be released from prison today

Ghanaian socialite Mona Montrage is set to be released from prison custody today, May 22, 2025, after serving her one-year sentence.

Mona was convicted for her involvement in a high-profile romance scam that defrauded individuals and businesses across the U.S. between 2013 and 2019.

The musician was sentenced on June 28, 2024, to 1 year and 1 day at the Federal Detention Centre in Philadelphia. However, she voluntarily turned herself in a month later on July 29, 2024.

As part of her sentence, she was ordered to forfeit $216,475 and pay $1,387,458 in restitution to the victims.

Reports in the local media indicate that she will be returning to Ghana seven days after her release, as she agreed to a self-deport upon completion of her sentence.
