I big pass your papa
Multiple award-winning Nigerian artiste, Wizkid has finally reacted to comments made by Grammy-nominated singer Seun Kuti, following days of online backlash.
A few days ago, Seun Kuti criticized fans who compare Wizkid to his late father, Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Speaking during an Instagram livestream, Seun described the comparisons as disrespectful.
“Wizkid FC, keep Fela’s name out of your mouths,” he said. “You try to claim that your fake artiste is the new Fela.”
He continued, “When you people saw that the shoes were too big to fill and people like me did not allow you to get away with those insults… It is actually an insult to compare Wizkid to Fela.”
Seun explained that his reaction was not personal but about protecting his father’s legacy.
“You people have no respect,” he added. “If your lack of respect came from defiance, I would respect it. But your lack of respect came from ignorance.”
DAILY POST recalls that Seun also criticized Wizkid and his fanbase during several recent livestreams, repeatedly calling out the singer.
Following the backlash, Wizkid broke his silence on social media. Responding on his Instagram story, he wrote, “I big pass your papa!! Wetin you don do? I’m Big Wiz everyday.”
He also posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying, “Ok everybody better pass Wizkid! Can we all sleep now? Fela fight for freedom, this fool dey fight FC! Oloshi Omo ale!”
