I bought cars, traveled the world, but lost everything

Nigerian singer Sky B has reflected on the highs and lows of his music career, sharing how fame brought him wealth but also personal loss.

“I enjoyed. I bought Cressula Convertible. Bought Jaguar. Bought Lexus. I got like four Motu,” he said. “My mother told me, ‘Come and sell some of these Motu now.’

“My junior brother… if you carry one Motu, he will go for bubble. He will jump. He will kill everybody. Kill himself.”

He explained that success allowed him to travel widely. “I went to Switzerland, Zurich, Shanghai, South Africa, Europe, Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia,” he said, while reacting to the death of Destiny Boy.

Despite the material success, Sky B said he eventually lost hope. “I have lost everything. I have no hope again. So I am ready to die. Let me expose them and go,” he said.

He used his story as a warning to young musicians. “Fame is not everything. You can have all the cars, all the trips, all the money. But if you don’t live well, you will regret it. Learn from my mistakes,” he said.
