Nigerian Content creator Peller has opened up about why he gifted his girlfriend, Jarvis, a luxury AMG car for her birthday, a move that sparked online debate.

Speaking directly to his audience, Peller said, “I didn’t buy the car because I wanted her to stay with me. Bro, I gave her. She deserved it. All the things you have done with me for my life, all these days. Now, I give her.”

He emphasized that demonstrating wealth isn’t only about buying for one’s mother.

“If you buy it for your mummy, they will say that it’s because she doesn’t take care of you from small. That one, I don’t mind if you buy a car for your mummy. But if you buy a car for your girlfriend, that is how we know if the guy is rich,” he said.

Peller also touched on the scale of his spending, pointing out that while his mother received a Toyota, he believes gifts for a partner reflect a different level of commitment and recognition.

“I buy my mummy 9 million in that Toyota. She still complains. Now, everybody won’t die if I buy my baby an AMG,” he added.

For Peller, gifting Jarvis was about appreciation and love, rather than status. “My baby is part of the reason I have decided to talk. I love my baby. He knows what to do,” he said.
