One of Ghana’s fastest-rising Hiplife artistes and a former Highly Spiritual signee, Lasmid says he felt good when he was told to join the record label after winning the MTN Hitmaker talent show.

Lasmid born Ladsmid Nathaniel Owusu after winning the MTN Hit Maker was given a one-year contract to join Highly Spiritual for the record label to produce two songs and two music videos at an amount of GHC40,000.

Subsequently, after the release of his hit song Friday Night, Lasmid became bigger in the music industry topping chats with his single produced by Kaywa, boss of Highly Spiritual.

A year on, Lasmid exited the record label leaving his former boss Kaywa ‘disappointed’.

However, expressing his gratitude to Kaywa on Kingdom FM in an interview, Lasmid revealed that he is very grateful to have worked with a record label at the beginning of his career.

“I was excited because by then I had gone through a lot of struggles so having such an opportunity and also meeting such a big music producer, I had no reason than to be happy”, he said.

In his interview, the Friday Night hitmaker also accepted the fact that he had broken a promise he made to his form manager Kaywa after he promised he was never going to leave the record label.

“I said I wasn’t ready to leave Kaywa for anybody. In fact I said he was my father”.  Lasmid said while recalling an earlier interview he had on Kingdom FM when Fiifi Pratt tried to remind him of his own words on the show “Afro Joint”.
