I never thought I’d be in the media – Bola Ray
Bola Ray spoke on the first episode of GHOne’s new program Spotlight Spin, hosted by Etornam Kumashie, about how the media industry has evolved and how he has managed to maintain authenticity in his work.
Bola Ray, who has built a successful career spanning over two decades, discussed the importance of adapting to changes in the industry while staying true to one’s roots.
“I started my career when vinyl records and cassette tapes were still in circulation. Over time, as technology evolved, I had to evolve with it,” Bola stated in the interview monitored by MyNewsGh.
“I saw people from my era who didn’t keep up with the changes, and they faded away,” he shared, emphasizing the importance of staying relevant.
He further encouraged younger professionals in the media and entertainment industry to embrace the digital revolution without compromising their authenticity.
“It’s important to stay connected to your audience and understand the platforms they’re using. At the same time, you must be authentic and maintain your originality,” he advised.
Reflecting on the generational shift in media consumption, Bola Ray acknowledged the rise of digital platforms and social media.
“With the rise of social media and the power of influencers, there’s a growing need to balance traditional media and new-age platforms. But no matter what, authenticity is key to surviving in this business.”
