I never used my acting money
In an interview on Kingdom FM on Thursday evening, December 18, Prophet Ogyaba opened up about his past interactions with Kumawood actors, particularly his generosity towards them.
The conversation, which took place in a relaxed atmosphere, highlighted the Prophet’s deep ties to the local film industry before his transition into pastoral work.
Ogyaba, who once worked as an actor, reminisced about the days when he was financially comfortable.
He explained that he used to visit Kumawood sets, bringing cash donations and gifts for the actors as a show of support.
“I used to visit Kwadwo Nkansah, better known as Lilwin, on set and make donations.
He was the main recipient of my generosity,” Prophet Ogyaba shared.
His fondness for Lilwin was clear as he recalled the warmth and bond they shared during those days.
Another actor Ogyaba mentioned fondly was Agya Koo, who stood out among his peers.
“I remember a time when Agya Koo and I were driving around in an Escalade together.
Those were the days when we really enjoyed each other’s company,” Ogyaba said with a smile, reflecting on the camaraderie and good times they shared.
Despite his wealth during that time, Ogyaba never used the money earned from his acting career.
“I never used any of the money I made from acting,” he said.
“I was doing well financially, but my purpose was to support my colleagues.
“I wanted to help them rise as I did.”
His financial stability allowed him to freely share his earnings with others, particularly those who were struggling in the industry.
