I solved his problem but he turned around to insult me

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has described his decision to pay a debt linked to rapper Tinny as the “wrongest good deed” he has ever done, saying the gesture later turned into a source of public insults against him.

Speaking in an interview with Highest Eri monitored by MyNewsGh, Stonebwoy recounted how he became involved in the issue purely by chance while visiting a radio station.

According to him, he overheard a conversation about a veteran musician whose car had been seized because of an unpaid loan.

“The last thing I did that would be the wrong that I did was to pay for some money that he owed,” Stonebwoy said.

“I was walking around the radio station and they just chanced me into the conversation and said, ‘Oh, this is what’s happening, and this is a legend who owes some money, and for that reason this car has been seized.’”

Stonebwoy said he immediately asked about the amount involved and decided to settle it without hesitation. “I said, ‘Hey please, how much is it?’ They mentioned the amount. I said, ‘Okay, I’ll give it to you and I’ll go home.’ By the time I left, I gave them the money and I went home,” he explained.

He stressed that he did not publicise the payment or seek any recognition for it. “Nobody heard from me. I did not use it as a publicity stunt that they would have if they were in my shoes. I did not say a word. I’d even forgotten,” he said.

Stonebwoy noted that the issue resurfaced only after Tinny released a video attacking him. “What brought it back to my attention is when he went on video. I’ve seen the video to insult me for doing nothing,” he said.

Expressing disappointment, the musician said the reaction left him deeply unsettled. “If the fans are discerning and they have ears and they have eyes and they have emotions that believe that no such a thing is wrong, then it is. To be honest, I felt disgusted about that,” Stonebwoy stated.

He added that despite stepping in to help, the situation still escalated. “You should know that I don’t know nothing about that. I’ve done a good thing, but he still went ahead and took the car off after the payment,” he said.
