I want people on the streets to feel seen and respected – Chef Abby
Popular Ghanaian chef and content creator Chef Abby has announced plans to feed over 15,000 people in Accra through a new social project called “The Big Street Feast.”
Chef Abby said the initiative aims to show love and dignity to people living on the streets, not just handouts.
“This is not charity. It’s about dignity, community, and humanity,” she explained Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning monitored by MyNewsGh.
“I want people on the streets to feel seen, respected, and cared for.”
The event, which will take place later this year, will provide meals to people from different parts of the city. Chef Abby noted that her goal is to use food as a tool for connection and social impact.
“I’ve always loved teaching people how to cook,” she said. “But I realized I could also use food to bring people together, especially those who feel forgotten.”
Chef Abby has gained international attention for her creative food content, representing Ghana at major events like the Cannes Lions for TikTok, where she showcased local dishes.
Despite her growing fame, Chef Abby says her focus remains on using her platform to promote Ghanaian culture and help others.
“Whatever you love doing, you can make something out of it,” she said. “For me, cooking isn’t just my job , it’s my way of touching lives.”
