How my hit song stopped me from quitting music - Mabel Okyere

Gospel singer, Mabel Okyere has disclosed how she didn’t feel disappointed for not winning the ‘Gospel Song of the Year’ at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

She stated that Nacee’s ‘Aseda’ which won that particular category truly deserved it over her hit single titled Anuonyam (Aha Ye Kwan Ho).

Talking to Amansan Krakye in an interview, she said she was rather happy to get the nomination because a lot of good songs were released in the year under review.

She answered “I wasn’t disappointed that my song didn’t win the TGMA Gospel Song of the Year because I was even happier that my song was nominated last year.

“When I released the song in 2023 that particular year a lot of songs were also released so to get a nomination it means God has really glorified Himself.

“I wasn’t hurt that I couldn’t go home with the award because the testimonies alone I’m getting from what the song is doing in the lives of others are more than an award,” she posited as listened by MyNewsGh.com
