I was too loyal to see the business side of music

Mr Real has revealed that excessive loyalty and inexperience prevented him from understanding the business side of the music industry during his interactions with Mr Eazi.

During an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast monitored by MyNewsGh, the rapper said Mr Eazi spent significant time explaining industry fundamentals, particularly revenue models around streaming.

“He was telling me how the streaming works, how I can make money,” Mr Real disclosed.

According to him, the advice was delivered during a lengthy private conversation.

“Me and Mr Eazi talked for more than 30 minutes. He was trying to explain some things because I think he saw something that I wasn’t seeing,” he said.

Mr Real admitted that his mindset at the time was flawed.

“I was too, too loyal, loyal to a fault,” he stated, adding that he failed to recognise that music also operates as a structured business. “I didn’t know there was a business behind this thing.”

He described his comments as a reflection on personal growth, saying his current perspective is shaped by experience rather than conflict.
