If you want to introduce me, do it properly
Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi corrected how she was introduced during a recent appearance on the podcast The Honest Bunch Podcast.
The moment happened shortly after one of the hosts, Husband Material, introduced her at the start of the conversation. Anunobi interrupted and asked that her title and name be stated accurately.
“If you want to introduce me, you introduce me properly,” she said, as monitored by MyNewsGh.
The actress went on to describe the titles she prefers to be recognised by, noting that she holds an academic doctorate.
“I am, remain, Apostle Dr. Eucharia Anunobi. My doctorate degree is not honorarium. It is academic. I’ve worked, I’ve laboured, I’m schooled, and when I mean schooled, I mean schooled,” she said.
Anunobi, who is also known for her religious ministry, added that she is an ordained minister.
“I am a woman of God, an ordained woman of God,” she said.
She also reflected on her career in the film industry, saying she believes her work over the years has earned her recognition.
“I’m a foremost, not just superstar, I’m a megastar when it comes to acting. I’m a moving acting machine,” she said.
During the exchange, Anunobi also addressed the use of the name “Aku,” which was mentioned in the introduction. She said the name no longer applies to her.
“I don’t know where you got the Aku from,” she said. “Yes, there was a court wedding, but there was no traditional wedding and there was no church wedding.”
According to her, the relationship ended a long time ago.
“That relationship had been dissolved. That name has been expunged, it’s gone and buried and will never resurrect,” she said.
She concluded by restating how she prefers to be addressed.
“So as it is, I am, remain, Apostle Dr. Eucharia Anunobi,” she said.
