IGP Dampare’s focus on celebs doesn’t scare me at all – Kwaw Kese explains
Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Kwaw Kese born Emmanuel Kofi Botwe has disclosed that he’s not frightened by the recent arrests of celebrities in the country.
After the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare was appointed, many have hailed him for causing the arrest of Shatta Wale and Medikal for various offenses.
Kwaw Kese who was arrested in 2014 by the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi for smoking cannabis in public said he doesn’t do anything criminal to be scared of the new IGP.
“I’m not scared or frightened by the works of the new IGP cos it’s only those who are into criminal acts that will get scared,” he said on Cape Coast-based Kastle FM.
He added on the Kastle Entertainment Show “When you know that you are doing something which isn’t good that’s what will get you frightened.
“But if you have clear intentions there is no need to get afraid by what the new IGP is doing,” Kwaw Kese stated in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
“Unless you do something that when you are arrested you can be jailed that’s when you get scared but I don’t see any bad thing I’m doing to get afraid,” he ended.
On 23rd April 2015, Kwaw Kese was sentenced to one day in jail after being found guilty of smoking cannabis and made to pay GH¢1,200 as fine.
