I’m putting my foot on the gas
King Promise is basking in the glow of triumph after being crowned Artiste of the Year — a milestone he describes as both “long-awaited” and “overwhelming.”
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, May 13, the singer opened up about the win, the love he’s received, and his determination to keep pushing forward.
“I was very hopeful I was going to win, so I couldn’t wait for it to materialise and I am glad it did. Truthfully, it feels great and the love from my fans and Ghanaians has been overwhelming,” he said.
Indeed, for King Promise, this victory was not just a personal achievement but a collective celebration with his fans and the country that has watched his steady rise. He expressed deep appreciation for the support he’s received over the years.
“I appreciate Ghana for acknowledging my hard work in the year under review and giving me the highest mandate to continue being the Ambassador of Ghana’s music to the rest of the world,” he added.
The “Terminator” hitmaker, known for his consistent presence on international stages and hit-making prowess, is aware of the weight that comes with such a title — especially in an industry that can be unforgiving to those who let the momentum drop. But King Promise is far from worried.
Addressing concerns about whether he can sustain his relevance after such a huge win, he gave a confident assurance: “That will definitely not be my story. I’m putting my foot on the gas, and my consistency over the years speaks for itself.”
