It made me question myself

In an emotionally charged segment of his conversation with Chude Jideonwo on the ‘With Chude’ podcast monitored by MyNewsGh, Nigerian comedian Oluwadolarz opened up about the personal tragedies that shaped his life, including the loss of his father at a young age and the devastating accusation of rape in 2020.

Oluwadolarz revealed that he lost his father when he was just two years old and later lost a stepfather in 2015.

“I had to step up and become the man of the house,” he said. This responsibility led him to drop out of his studies in 2015, despite being a Mass Communication student.

“There was no money, and even if I didn’t drop out, I would have been forced to. So, I just decided to focus on providing for the family.”

He also shared his experience with an anonymous accusation of rape in 2020.

“There was this trend where celebrities were being accused, and someone just decided to throw my name into the mix,” he recalled. “I woke up to find a tweet saying I locked someone in my house for three days and raped them. I was confused. I was even doubting myself.”

The false allegations sent shockwaves through his life, causing him to question everything.

“I went online and told the accuser, ‘If you’re sure, come out with your evidence.’

The whole situation made me doubt everything, but I had to stay strong,” he said, reflecting on the emotional toll of the accusations.

Despite the ordeal, he remains resilient, stating, “It was tough, but it’s just part of life. You can’t always predict what’s coming your way.”
