I’ve never been an NPP member- Kwabena Kwabena

Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has indicated that he has never been a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He says he has only worked for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo from 2008 to 2016, when he became president.

“I don’t belong to the NPP. I did stuff for them, but I’ve never been a card-bearing member of the political party.

I did a campaign song for candidate Akufo-Addo way back in 2008 and 2012, and in 2016, I supported his candidature, and he became president, and that was it,” he said.

Kwabena Kwabena mentioned that although he did not join the party’s campaign in 2024, they found a way to use his voice to their benefit.

The musician disclosed that he was hurt by the move because they were talking about he creating a remix only for him to hear an edited version of his 2008 song for candidate Akufo-Addo being used for Bawumia in 2024.
