‘Kings Belt’ homowo bout slated for August 27

As part of activities to celebrate the Homowo festival this year, a boxing bout dubbed ‘Kings Belt’ which is promoted by Silver Black Promotions will be held on 27th of August at 6pm at Osu Salem.

Silver Black Promotions is a Boxing promotion company founded in 2020 by Daniel Ablorh Sowah. The main focus of the promotion is to organise and promote boxing fights for talented and hardworking boxers who do not have the platform to showcase their talent, and gain recognition.

Daniel Ablorh Sowah says he believes in changing lives of local boxers. He believes there should be consistent fight nights to keep boxers busy. With the help of Nii Akapeh III of Osu and a few friends, Sowah’s first fight will take place at the Osu Salem Park on Friday 27th August.

The fight night will feature a local champion from Osu, Carl Lokko aka OsuLion who is also from a royal home, and a local champion from Ga Mashie Benjamin Atiaku aka OneBlow who is enstooled as a youth king and Asafoatse of Bortiano. According to Silver Black Promotions, it took into consideration the homowo festival in choosing the name of the boxing bout, hence KING’S BELT.

Speaking to myxyzonline Carl Lokko aka OsuLion said, “ I am like Adrien Broner, he likes to party but takes boxing serious. I am true definition of “all works and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. I am ever ready to silence OneBlow to set the records.

Meanwhile, Benjamin Atiaku aka OneBlow said he represents the street of shatta movement from Bortiano, Kasoa, Jamestown and Bukom. “If there is one person I would like to fight again, it’s Osu Lion. It’s a win for me. Jah guide me.”

This is the second time these two will be on the canvas to do battle. The first fight was declared a draw of which both set of fans expressed disappointment to the judges decision. Silver Black Promotions believes the fight will settle the rivalry between the two once and for all. Only one fighter will be recognised as a true king of the ring, it says.

Other bouts on the night will be between Melton vs Canelo, Sarah vs Osuman, Enoch vs Sampson and GuyGuy vs Iron Man.
