Kofi Kinaata reveals why he’ll never venture into politics
‘Things Fall Apart’ hitmaker, Martin King Arthur popularly known as Kofi Kinaata has revealed why he might never consider venturing into politics by contesting to be a Member of Parliament (MP) in his hometown.
“They will insult my mother so I beg you to leave me out of politics because in my hometown where I come from politics isn’t about facts,” he said in an interview with Amansan Krakye.
“What you are saying might be true about a certain issue and everyone knows it’s true but because of partisanship they’ll say it’s not true,” he explained on Cape Coast’s Kastle FM.
He added “Insulting me personally won’t bother me much but extending it to my parents who might have lived a life that no family member of yours can come closer to but because I’m into politics that’s why you’ll insult them”.
According to the ‘Takoradi-born’ Highlife artiste, he would rather concentrate on his music career than decide to venture into active partisan politics because he doesn’t have the heart for it.
“So for partisan politics before God and to be sincere right now in this condition that I find myself I’m not sure I’ll get that heart to be a part of it,” he revealed.
