Kumawood Directors incompetent; lack basic knowledge and skills in directing
Popular Kumawood Actor Dada Santo popularly known as Oboy Siki has attributed the downfall of the Kumawood Movie Industry to the incompetence on the part of Kumawood Directors who lack knowledge in directing.
The Kumawood Movie Industry is struggling for survival after it collapsed some years ago as a result of the lack of patronage.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Angel Fm Entertainment show hosted by Ike De Unpredictable and monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Oboy Siki emphasized that the majority of Kumawood directors lack the ability, knowledge and skills to direct good movies.
According to Oboy Siki, some of the Kumawood directors have the director title but they struggle to direct the actors when they are on set.
“Some of the Kumawood directors hate me not because I’m not a good actor but they know I will challenge them when they make mistakes on location. Their problem is they hate actors who will correct them when they go wrong” Oboy Siki revealed.
“Ike, could you believe that a director who is directing a movie will be talking to some people while the actors are acting. The director who has the mandate to direct the actors to do the right thing will not even follow what the actors are doing”.
Oboy Siki explained that “The director who is on location with the actors will have the script of the movie we are shooting and he will just explain the scenes to the actors and that’s all”
“Kumawood Movie Industry will bounce back if the industry gets good and committed directors who want the best for the industry because a good director can direct poor story to be a good story”.
