Kwabena Kwabena wrote my ‘Ote Me Mu’ song – Ohemaa Mercy reveals
Professional teacher turned award-winning Gospel musician, Ohemaa Mercy has revealed that, Highlife artist Kwabena Kwabena helped her write her most listened and powerful Gospel song “Ote Me Mu” released last year.
According to her, she had the inspiration to write the song during a prayer session to tell God not to allow the pandemic spread severely on the soil of Ghana. However, in the middle of her encounter with God, the Voice of the Lord told her “He lives in me” which translated into the Twi language as “Ote Me Mu”.
“I think during the COVID time I was so shaky when people were being thrown into pits. I started praying and a voice told me I live in you. In your DNA and so far as I live in you nothing can affect you and your household. So I had that kind of encouragement”. Ohemaa Mercy narrated her story on JoyPrime in an interview monitored by MyNewsGH.com.
“So I called my brother Kwabena Kwabena and for him, God has given him so much wisdom when it comes to writing of songs and arrangement. By the grace of God Kwabena Kwabena helped me to come out with this beautiful tune. And I want to thank him a lot”, she added.
The music “Ote Me Mu” which featured MOG after t was released in 2021 has become very big and received massive airplay both on the mainstream media and social media.
Fast forward, the song won her “Gospel Song of the Year” award at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA).
