Maame Tiwaa breaks down while recounting her struggles with Yaw Sarpong
It was a solemn moment in the studios of Kumasi-based Angel Fm when popular backing vocalist to Ghanaian gospel legend Yaw Sarpong, Maame Tiwaa broke down while recounting their struggles.
Yaw Sarpong revealed that most of the songs were inspired by challenges they were going through in life indicating that it was not rosy as many thought.
“Ike the things we have gone through is not easy. This job we took upon ourselves was not easy. At the time, we did these songs based on the difficult situation we found ourselves in. The protection God has given us is not easy”, he revealed on the show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
Yaw Sarpong had in an earlier interview revealed “‘I’ve been working with her since 1981. A lot of people are wondering how a lady has been working with me this long.”
According to Yaw Sarpong, he picked Tiwaa 40 years ago and has lived with his real wife for years. He said Tiwaa gave birth to her two children while living with his family.
“I started working with Tiwaa before giving birth to her first and second children. She lived with me and my wife. So, my wife knows Tiwaa is not my wife.”
