My allegations were false – Nana Agradaa apologises to Empress Gifty
Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Mama Pat, has formally retracted and apologised for defamatory statements she made about Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye. The apology was issued through her lawyers, Agyaa Asamani Law Consult, in a press statement dated December 4, 2025.
According to the statement, “In May 2025, our client, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua @ Mama Pat, published several posts on her social media handles. These posts were made in reaction to a statement previously made by Mr. Hopeson Adorye against her person.”
Her lawyers explained that the comments were not intended to defame the gospel musician but were unfortunately interpreted as such.
“Our client’s statements were made in the spur of the moment; however, they were taken literally to impute immorality and unchastity upon the character of Empress Gifty Oppong Adorye,” the release stated.
The law firm clarified that the allegations were without basis. “It is now stated unequivocally that the allegations made by our client as contained in the impugned publications were false and completely without merit. Consequently, our client retracts every statement made therein.”
The statement emphasised Mama Pat’s remorse and extended an unreserved apology.
“Our client also offers an unqualified and sincere apology to Empress Gifty Adorye Oppong for the harm these false statements have caused to her personal and professional reputation, character, and well-being.
“This apology is also extended to her family, friends, and colleagues for the pain and distress they have endured.”
