My privacy is my peace
For years, Nollywood actress Chika Ike has been the subject of countless rumors—some amusing, some outright ridiculous—but she has largely ignored them.
However, when the latest speculation dragged her unborn child into the mix, she decided to speak up.
The actress, who recently announced her pregnancy, took to social media to firmly shut down rumors that she is carrying Senator Ned Nwoko’s child and preparing to become his seventh wife.
“FALSE! FALSE! FALSE!” Chika began emphatically, adding, “There have been all sorts of lies peddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are—rumors that needed no response. But this is different. This is about my CHILD.”
The actress made it clear that while she understands the price of fame includes speculation about her personal life, she draws the line when it involves her child. She reaffirmed her commitment to privacy, stating that no one truly knows her unless she chooses to disclose details.
“Ned isn’t the father of my child, and whoever’s name you might come up with later in your guessing games—I repeat, I am NOT about to be anyone’s seventh wife! Polygamy isn’t for me.”
Chika also reminded the public that she managed to keep her pregnancy a secret for months, proving how tightly she guards her personal life.
“I don’t care about rumors because I understand they come with my career choice. The only reason I’m responding to this is because it involves my child. My privacy is my peace, and NO ONE can unsettle me. I’m basking in the euphoria of my pregnancy, and that’s all that matters to me now.”
