My relationship with Rufftown Records has evolved, not ended
Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has finally cleared the air about her relationship with Rufftown Records, the label that introduced her to mainstream fame.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie monitored by MyNewsGh, Wendy revealed that although her working relationship with Rufftown has evolved, she remains under the label’s umbrella.
“I still work with Rufftown Records,” she clarified. “Everything is going on normally like a label would do for an artist. It’s just that it’s more of a partnership now.”
When asked how the new structure works, she explained that the transition was a natural progression, not a breakup. “It’s a partnership. That’s exactly how I’ll put it,” she said with a smile.
The “Survivor” hitmaker also spoke about her current management team, describing them as energetic, aligned, and deeply committed to her vision.
“I’m very happy with my new team. Everyone understands where I want to take my brand, and they’re fully in tune,” she noted.
Wendy Shay added that she feels grateful for having a solid support system. “It’s hard to find people who believe in your dream and are willing to rock with you like this. I’m super grateful to God for that.”
