Radio personality Nana Romeo has officially joined Despite Media Group as the new host of the highly-rated drive time show “Ekwanso Dwoodwo” on Okay 101.7 FM, marking a bold new chapter in his media journey.
In an emotionally charged statement shared with his audience, Nana Romeo expressed both gratitude and excitement as he steps into the role previously held by Abeiku Santana, who recently took up a new government position as Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, I am honoured and thrilled to share that I have joined DESPITE MEDIA as the new host of the famous drive time show Ekwanso Dwoodwo on OKAY 101.7 FM,” he announced.
Known for his strong on-air presence and daring interviews during his time at Accra FM, Nana Romeo now finds himself at the helm of one of Ghana’s most iconic radio programmes.
His message, however, was not only one of professional achievement but also of humility and deep appreciation.
“I also look forward to growing and succeeding together in this exciting journey, and I promise to give my all,” he said. “I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way, especially my family, my friends, my former employees, my colleagues and you. Your guidance and encouragement have been invaluable.”
The radio host reserved his most heartfelt appreciation for the leadership at Despite Media, naming key industry figures who played a role in making the move possible.
“A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR FATHER DR OSEI KWAME DESPITE AND HIS BROTHER DR ERNEST OFORI SARPONG, MR KENNEDY OSEI AND TO DR FADA DICKSON, A SELFLESS MAN AND A FATHER FOR ALL. I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY GIVEN ME. ALHAMDULILLAH! GLORY BE TO ALLAH 🙏. Ana mumtan lihadiat alhayaa.”
