Nollywood actor Columbus Irosanga aka Igbudu is dead
The Nigerian film industry has lost one of its iconic figures as veteran Nollywood actor and scholar, Dr. Columbus Irosanga, aka Igbudu, has passed away.
Actress Hilda Dokubo, in an emotional Instagram post, expressed her grief, saying, “There can’t be a shortage of Angels in heaven that the few here are called home like this na! This one is heavy on Uniport, Rivers State, Nollywood.”
Dr. Irosanga was a respected senior lecturer in Theatre Arts at the University of Port Harcourt, but many remember him for his unforgettable role as the fearsome chief priest, Igbudu, in the 2001 Nollywood blockbuster Issakaba 2.
His performance in the film became legendary, earning him a special place in the hearts of movie lovers.
Over the years, he built an impressive career, appearing in numerous films such as Agbako, Dog Meeting, Ojadike, Clash of Native Doctors, Selina Tested, and Elders at War.
