Not even a woman could make me take it off
Rapper Dr Cryme has made headlines with a fascinating revelation about his iconic cap during his appearance on the Atuu program, hosted by the well-known broadcaster Abeiku Santana.
As monitored by MyNewsGH.com, the veteran rapper, who rose to fame alongside other talented artists such as Sarkodie from Tema over a decade ago, discussed the personal significance of his hat in an engaging conversation.
Dr Cryme, whose real name is Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, is a prominent figure in the Ghanaian music scene and is known for his distinct style and catchy hits.
Since his debut, he has carved out a niche for himself, collaborating with various artists and contributing to the growth of the hip-hop genre in Ghana. However, it is his signature hat that often draws attention, leading to a memorable moment during the interview.
“I would never appear in public without my cat,” Dr Cryme declared, firmly asserting his attachment to this accessory.
He elaborated, “Not even a woman could persuade me to take it off. There’s a special bond between me and my cap that makes it unlikely for me to be without it.”
When Abeiku Santana probed further, asking whether he views the cap as a form of juju or charm, Dr Cryme confirmed its significance in his life.
“It serves as a good luck charm for me,” he stated, revealing how this seemingly simple item holds a special place in his life and career. His words resonate with fans who appreciate the blend of superstition and personal belief that many artists incorporate into their lives.
The rapper’s attachment to his hat reflects a broader cultural theme where personal items or clothing can embody luck, power, or protection. For Dr Cryme, this cap is not just an accessory; it represents his journey, success, and the persona he has cultivated in the Ghanaian music industry.
