NPP disregarded my concept to discover talents in schools—Fred Kyei Mensah

Music producer Fred Kyei Mensah has disclosed that he once proposed a concept aimed at discovering young musical talents across schools in Ghana.

According to him, the idea was designed as a pilot project that would give students the chance to record and promote their music.

“I had a very good concept,” he said on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh.

“The idea was to go to different schools, record one song in each school and put it on social media so people around the world could listen and support the students.”

Mensah explained that the project would have served as a platform to identify promising talents while also promoting Ghanaian music globally.

He said the proposal was submitted to people in authority at the time, but it was never implemented.

“I sent the concept to them, but nothing happened,” he stated.

The sound engineer believes initiatives like this could help strengthen the creative industry and give young artists an early opportunity to be discovered.

He added that with the right support, similar projects could still be introduced to benefit upcoming musicians.
