Peace over disgrace- Tonto Dikeh reacts to Mohbad controversy
Veteran Nigerian actress and activist, Tonto Dikeh, has broken her silence after being dragged into the ongoing calls for justice in the tragic death of singer Mohbad.
In a passionate and defiant Instagram post, the mother of one made it clear she was choosing peace over disgrace, warning critics that her life is governed not by public opinion but by divine protection and purpose.
“After four decades on this earth, I have made a conscious, unwavering choice: peace over disgrace,” she wrote. “I walk in perfect rhythm with El-Roi—the God who sees me. The One who fights my battles in silence and secures my victories in full view.”
Tonto’s bold response follows claims made by activist Verydarkman, who alleged that a WhatsApp group was formed by actress Iyabo Ojo, reportedly involving Tonto Dikeh, Samklef, and others, supposedly to control narratives around the Mohbad case.
Without naming names, Tonto made it clear she would not be dragged into chaos or drama.
“Truth needs no defense; in His time, it shall be revealed, not by my hand, but by His divine orchestration. I do not wrestle with mortals,” she declared.
Tonto also had a few words for those hoping for her downfall.
“To those awaiting my fall into chaos, you clearly do not know WHO I AM ….NOR WHOSE I AM… You do not know the joy I carry, a joy that is divine, untouchable, and irrevocable. No man born of a woman can strip me of it.”
Ending her statement on a powerful note, she affirmed her resilience and unapologetic self-love.
“I stand rooted, healed, and dangerously in love with myself. In this sacred space of self-love, I am both my sanctuary and my fire.”
Then came the line that’s already going viral online: “Excuse me to say, F*ck the devil.”
Using the hashtag #AdaElRoi, she signed off: “She who is seen, shielded, and unstoppable.”
